Who says school holidays are just for lounging around? Our Grade 8 and 9 students turned their school break into an epic & productive adventure in coding and robotics! With the help of some awesome guests and our fantastic teachers, they spent a week (24 – 29 June) diving into the world of technology, solving problems, and building some seriously cool projects.
From day one, our students were all in. They couldn’t wait to get their hands on the kits provided by the department of education and start coding up a storm. It was amazing to see them so excited and ready to learn. They asked tons of questions, tackled new concepts, and really got into the spirit of things.
We had some special visitors join us, former learners & programmers of the school & Telkom Coding programs. They shared their stories, tips, and tricks, giving our learners a big boost of motivation and fun essence during the classes. Their success stories showed that with hard work and passion, anything is possible!
Guests Attended: Mateus S. Jostina, Maluleke Tokologo, Vimbelela Gugulethu, Chauke B. George, Mogorosi Kamogelo, Mhlanga T. Paul.
The best part? The hands-on projects! Our students worked in teams to solve real-world problems using their new skills. They built everything from simple gadgets to complex robots, showing off their creativity and technical know-how. It was like a mini science fair, and the results were mind-blowing!
Shoutout to Our Teachers, Coaches & SGB
A huge shoutout to the awesome teachers who made this week happen. And to the fantastic coaches namely Mosala J. Tsoarelo & Seima Thabang for their expertise and enthusiasm kept everyone engaged and excited. They made even the toughest topics fun and easy to understand.
And a big thank you to our School Governing Body (SGB) for ensuring our learners were well-fed and energized throughout the week. The delicious meals they provided kept everyone fuelled up and ready to take on new challenges!
Looking Ahead
As the week wrapped up, it was clear that our learners had caught the coding and robotics bug. They’re ready to take on more challenges and continue exploring the world of tech. We’re super proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see where their newfound skills will take them.
In a nutshell, our week of coding and robotics was a blast! With eager learners, inspiring guests, and amazing teachers, we had a holiday to remember. Here’s to many more tech-filled adventures in the future!
